Harp Programs
...with the Marini Family
Each of the seven different programs
presented by the Marini family is about half music and half narrative...
all following a certain
theme. Appropriate song selections will be played on the harps and
other instruments by the Marini children, and a clear Gospel message
woven into each program by Alex Marini (harpmaker of New Holland,
PA). We offer family programs as a ministry at no charge. We do,
however, accept a love offering or donation from those who feel led
of the Lord to do so.

(1) Harps in the Bible...
Harps were used for a number of purposes in Bible
days: worship on earth, worship in Heaven, prophecy, and as an aid
in meditation. We’ll
consider each of these as we look at related Bible passages and listen
to appropriate song selections on the harp by the Marini children throughout
the program.
Approximately 75 minutes.

(2) The History of Harps....
This program covers
the origin and development of different types of harps throughout history,
and the forces affecting
the harp’s evolution.
We’ll draw on secular and Biblical sources of information, view
lots of pictures of harps, and listen to appropriate selections on
the harp by the Marini children throughout the program.
Approximately 60 minutes.

(3) A Harp Christmas Program...
Christmas carols are packed with powerful theology, often straight from
the Bible. This program focuses on some of the major themes in the
carols: Christ’s lowly birth, His acceptance, rejection, crucifixion, and
His kingship. We’ll enjoy hearing carols on the harps by the Marini
children throughout the program.
Approximately 75 minutes.

(4) A Harp Easter Program...
Life--Death--Resurrection
....What does it all mean? This program explores God’s original intentions
in creating man, and the grief and broken relationship our fall caused. We’ll
consider the reign of sin and death, and the miracle of resurrection, looking
closely at the weighty implications of Jesus’ resurrection, the certainty
of man’s resurrection, and God’s kind and loving invitation to all
to restore that which was lost at the beginning.
Approximately 75 minutes.

(5) Godly Music Through the Eyes of a Harpmaker....
We’ll begin with a brief look at harps in the Bible and a different
perspective of music. The place of music in worship, and the worship
atmosphere that God calls for will be explored, as well as some practical thoughts
from Scripture on how to discern godly and ungodly music. Appropriate
selections
will be played
by the Marini children.
Approximately 60 minutes or 90 minutes to cover this subject adequately.

(6) The Making of a Harp....
Here’s your chance to see a harp from the inside out, and watch it
being assembled. We’ll talk about how the parts are made, fit together,
and finished. We’ll cover the wondrous qualities of the raw materials
used in harp making, and the awesome Creator of those materials.
Approximately 60 minutes.

(7) A Time to Harp....
“
To everything there is a season”... says Ecclesiastes. There is a
time to harp and a time not to harp. In this program we’ll focus on “seasons” in
the Bible that called for the harp to be heard, those “seasons” that
called for its silence, as well as the eternal season of the harp in
Heaven.
Approximately 60 minutes.
